Ricky Malik has stood out as a champion in the field of Immigration Law from his days at the University of Maryland Immigration Clinic where he earned the prestigious Public Service Award. In addition, Mr. Malik was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the United States Board of Immigration Appeals for his dedicated efforts.

Mr. Malik has always been a tireless advocate for the rights of immigrants in the United States, and has aggressively and relentlessly advocated on behalf of countless businesses and individuals. Mr. Malik has successfully argued in the defense of his clients at every level of jurisdiction: immigration court, state court, and in federal district and circuit courts. Mr. Malik has a passion for immigration law and has built a thriving practice by taking difficult, hard-to-win cases and bringing them to a victorious conclusion. Mr. Malik has triumphed in cases which range from Provisional Waivers, Special Immigrant Juvenile cases, Permanent Labor Certifications, Employment Based cases, Investor Visas, Non Immigrant Visas (H,E,B,F,L/ TN), Family Immigration, Preference Petitions, Consulate Processing, Visa Extensions, Naturalizations, Deportation Defense, NACARA, TPS, Asylum, Habeas Corpus, Corum Nobis and Federal Appellate Litigation, to name but a few.

Mr. Malik has argued cases before Immigration Courts nationwide, Criminal Courts in Virginia and Maryland as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Fourth and Sixth Circuit. Most recently before the Fourth Circuit resulting in a published opinion, Lizama v Holder, 09-2027 (4th Cir. 2011).

Mr. Malik is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and served in a leadership role as Co-Chair of the AILA-DC Arlington Immigration Court Liaison Committee. Mr. Malik was featured in the Washington Post on September 26, 2011 and June 10, 2012 for his role as an impassioned advoacate for his clients and appeared live on national TV on MSNBC’s “Weekends with Alex Witt” and the “Melissa Harris-Perry” show. Ricky Malik practices U.S. Immigration Law throughout the United States and has clients the world over.

Mr. Malik was born in London, England into a Hindu Indian family, and like those he represents, underwent the challenges of the U.S. Immigration system first hand. It is his past experiences that paved the way for his passion in his field, with but one goal, to keep families together.

Ricky Malik earned his bachelor’s degree with a double major in Psychology and History from the University of North Carolina in 1998 and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2002 and is admitted to practice before the Maryland and DC Bars.
